I've just bought one of these XcarLink iPod adaptors - seems to be the best option. Except now I need to install it....

How hard is it to pull all the fascia off the dashboard to get at the back of the existing stereo? What tools does one need? Are there any decent instructions anywhere as to the right sequence to pull things off?

Else does anyone know a competent installer who could do this reasonably in south London (SE5)...

thanks for any tips...

Vince.

I havn't taken mine apart yet, I don't think its hard, its just long winded. I think stavross on here has had his out so he would be the best person to comment.
I do know you have to take the trim off which houses the air vents right across the dash, the lower part of dash where drinks holder is, gear stick surround and I think the temp controls. lots of screws and clips!
If you do it yourself make sure its a mildly warm day as the plastic clips will not be as brittle and aid in not breaking any bits.

My local Honda dealership quoted £250 to fit just an AUX port on the FRV I am getting tomorrow. Instead, Impulse Car quoted £269 for a Parrot MKi9200 with bluetooth handsfree AND ipod connector fully fitted including parts. They also quoted £229 for a lower spec model, not sure which now!

I realise that this post may be a bit late for the original poster, but could help others in the same situation :)

Although my 2007 FR-V has the AUX input, I'm getting the Parrot MKi9200 fitted tomorrow - primarily for the Bluetooth connectivity.
One bonus of using the MKi9200 over the AUX in is that is has an iPOD connector meaning the iPOD aslo charges. 8-)
Photos of the install will be posted for those who are interested.....
