CRV 2008 Roof Bars Problem

CRV 2008 Roof Bars Problem

Postby MJK on Wed Apr 14, 2010 12:44 pm

Hi, I have a problem with regards to Roof Bars for the CRV 08 model, for some reason the ones supplied by Honda are an oval shape which makes them impractical for what I want to carry. Thule make a set to fit the CRV but this leaves a gap around the roof fixing kit once the plastic roof inserts have been removed and the kit fixed in place, I have seen A CRV with the alternate roof bars in place and there was a plastic surround to cover the gap left by the removal of the fixing space covers unfortunately the owner could not be contacted. Has anyone any information please, regarding these platic replacement covers that go between the roof bars fixing kit and the open space lef by the removal of the inserts.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Best Regards,

Mike

I think Thule made 2 different types of kit for the mk2 CRV, mine is a mk2 crv and doesn't have the inserts.

Thanks for the reply, I have sourced a set of " Roof Rails" from WWW.direct4x4.co.uk, a company based in Derby, they have a large selection of goodies
for the CRV, I have been informed that these Roof Rails will take the Thule Roof bars and are able to carry a fair amount of weight.

Cheers ,

Mike.

I just got a front fog light set off them, not bad for £80.
