Has anyone tried those new wiper blades?

Postby sohell on Sat Feb 21, 2009 7:34 pm

I have seen some unusual wiper blades on some Audis - they don't look as though they are part of the arm, and they certainly look different to the conventional ones on the FRV.

Has anyone tried them, and do they work? Are they worth the extar?

Here is a link to the normal one http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/product-list.php?Make=79&Model=1089&Mark=324&Year=2005&SearchAlive=1&Class=ncv&c=

And here is a link to what I believe are the new type http://www.wipex.co.uk/Honda%20FRV%2004%20c.htm

Any comments or thoughts?

I tried 'flat' wiper on my Aygo but didn't see any improvement to be honest. Seemed to smear quite badly on first wipe and then clear very well on the return. I have gone back to normal and find it much better. Haven't tried them on the FRV.

Thanks for that - guess I'll keep what I have for now, and see what the cost difference is when I need to replace them. If anyone else has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them.

i bought a 'flat' blade for my merc recently off ebay for a fiver or so. looks nice and works better than the Bostch ones i had previously - they always smeared part of the screen, even when new!

Thanks for the tip, ebay has similar ones for about a tenner delivered. I'll have a good look, and might even order a set. Let you all know how I get on

Just been back from Tesco's, where they have a variety of wiper blades for £3 each - I think they are for a single blade. They are in several sizes - 16", 18", 19", 20", and 24".

I believe that the driver side needs 26", and the passenger side needs 19" - anyone know if these can fitted on the rear?

don't think they can go on the rear, unless you cut down to size or something
