Hi folks, a newbie here.

Just about to sell my wife's 1997 1.5 v-tec civic automatic (to but a newer civic automatic with more doors for the baby seats). It has al ways had a slight problem with the immobiliser, say one in every 20 times the green key would flash, but by removing the key and trying again this has always sorted it, UP UNTIL NOW!!! It is now only about one in 20 times the damn thing will start! Took it to an auto electrician who said there were no fault codes registering and the cheapest course of action was first of all to try replacing the aerial that sits around the key barrel as this part is not "coded" to the immobiliser. I have tried this, and the problem is no better or worse than it was. Does anyone have any suggestions as although the car has 123k miles on it, it has never missed a beat and is far too good to scrap. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
