Newcomer in need of help

Postby Lou on Thu Apr 29, 2010 9:18 pm

Hi Everyone, I have become the proud owner of a CRV 2.0i VTEC SE Sport Auto, 52 reg which I am very pleased with, drives like a dream and is in very good condition. However I have noticed when taking tight turns and the steering is on full lock there is a distinct rumbling that comes from the rear I think. I am obviously hoping that it is nothing too serious as I have spent all my savings on this car hoping that as I am now 65 years of age it will last me for the rest of my driving life. I bought the CRV from a sole trader and it has all the service history from new. I would be very grateful for any help or advice that you may have. Many thanks Lou

Hi and welcome lou,

Sorry cant help you on your question as I dont own a crv, but if you brought it from a dealer i would take it back and ask their opinion on the rubbing noise. It could be a front wheel just rubbing on the inside wheel arch, I cant understand why the noise would be from the back.

Mark.

Thanks for your replies guys. Horto67 a friend suggested the same and it has certainly cured the problem, had the oil drained from diff and new 'proper oil' put in cost £50. Previous owner said his gargae had told him it was a CV joint, when I rang garage they confirmed and quoted £180 to repair - good saving there, fingers crossed it stays good.
