Paint work

Postby harveybaker on Sun Jul 18, 2010 9:08 pm

Hi all ,

Wonder if anyone can help me with the paint work on my FR-v .

I'm not known for my car washing prowess and in fact the neighbours generally dash outside when I eventually get round to it and take photos !!

Anyway I had noticed some fairly large dollops of bird poo on the car ( bonnet mainly ) but having got round to cleaning the car on Saturday there appears to be some kind of stubborn hard deposits that have so far resisted most efforts of removal . Initially I thought perhaps the lacquer had been ' eaten ' away but they did improve with the application of some cheap bug/tar remover I bought years ago . Is this any good or does anyone have any further suggestions or recommendations .

Any help much appreciated .

Mark .

might be worth applying some car soap to it directly to see if that shifts it

When i get bird poo on the car i just wash it off with a sponge and put a little bit of polish on it to clean the area.
We find Baby wipes are excellent for cleaning small areas, i use baby wipes to clean the flies off my visor when i've been out on the bike, it comes up a treat! :D
