Picking up our FR-V on Saturday!

Postby Growing Family on Thu Mar 11, 2010 12:39 am

We're excited about picking up our FR-V this weekend. Moving up from a Jazz (which has been great - faultless) to an FR-V as child no.3 is on the way in September!

We're getting an 05 1.7 V-TEC, and it's a nice one, only 27,000 miles on the clock, silver and in great condition. We couldn't afford to get a newer one or a diesel but we're happy enough. It drove great on test and has everything we are going to need. And it's a Honda. We are happy as our Honda dealer found it for us once it was in the pipeline, it never went on the forecourt, and we've got the warranty and back-up.

We couldn't face moving to another make after enjoying Honda reliability. To be honest, though, we were not aware of the FR-V until just recently. Once we saw one and did the research, looked at reviews. we were soon convinced, although it's a bigger car than we are used to. Mrs hasn't driven it yet but will get a chance on Saturday - while the Grandfolks look after the kids. Presume we'll soon get used to the hand brake!

Best wishes

Welcome on board,

you'll enjoy the car and the misses will love it. I have a 1.7 for about a year and a half and its been great, not the quickest car ever made, but its fine for the driving we do. The wife loves it and so do the kids!

Lets us know how you get with it.

Mark.

What a great car! Had it nearly 2 weeks now - comfortable, roomy, the kids love it. What a great design, all that space.I've adjusted now to the gear stick and the handbrake.

Only annoyance is a squeaky clutch. Otherwise faultless.

Good fuel consumption too, better than I expected. Really good value for money, just a really excellent car.

The FR-V deels like a bit of a well-kept secret - I haven't passed another one on the road yet since we got it.

Glad your enjoying it, they really are a good kept secret!
I also had a squeeky clutch pedal, it just needs some grease on a little plastic bush on top of the clutch pedel.

Thanks, Mark. That's very encouraging about the clutch pedal. I shan't worry about it too much, I will just get it seen to.

Really enjoying the FR-V, and today used all the space with the seats down for the first time - really great. The width helps, plus the shallow drop to the boot. Great design.

Just a matter of the Mrs getting more driving in over Easter to get used to it as well as me.

Still haven't seen any more FR-Vs when driving around....
