I have a 2006 CRV 2.2Ex and get less than 20,000 kms from a set of front tires, is this normal ? Most of my mileage (kilimoterage in my case) is on backroads (as opposed to motorways) with a daily 5km ride along on non-metalled track

Sounds about right. Mixed driving on my 2.2 gave about 15 ~ 18000 miles
Friend of mine drives his like an F1 car - gets 8000.....

Sounds good to me. I have just had 25k from new on ST30's and now have 2mm on front and 3mm on rear. I am going for same OEM tyre as I have been told they were made just for CR-V. Best price £166 each (225 60 18" 100H)
I am thinkiong about wintertyres for next year and believe you have to go down to 17". I have also read that you may NOT put chains on 18". Are these ideas correct?
