Wheel vibration

Wheel vibration

Postby Speedy on Thu Nov 20, 2008 8:45 pm

It is quite possible that I am being over sensitive but the steering on my new 2008 CRV has a vibration through the wheel at a little over 70. feels like out of balance wheels but they are fine.

Had the same problem but worse on my previous 2006 version. This had new wheels, new tyres, new driveshafts, balanced 4 times and spent many months with Honda - the joys of a company car!

Is this just a general problem with these cars - anybody else suffering?

I had an issue with my 2005 CRV with the same symptoms. I was told by my main agent that Honda recognised this issue and would fix it for vehicles with less than 40 000 miles within the 3 year guarantee. They replaced the front disks and pads. Now just one day over the 3 years guarantee the air-con has developed a fault and Honda are considering what to do about it. I will let you know.

My 2004 Crv was good up until January when I had a new set of Front tyres at a local guy who always gives a good deal. However I also found that over 70, the wheel started vibrating . I have had the same problem on about 15 totally different vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the last 30 years or so. I fixed the vast majority of them by having the wheels re-balanced.
I have not approached my Honda dealer about it yet but am now starting to feel a bit paranoid having read some of these posts. I have just registered on this Forum tonight and up to now, have been so confident with the Car I own having had a 16 year old Integra, which went on to do another 5 years and had nothing go majorly wrong. My brother had an Accord Hatch for 8or 9 yrs. And he punishes all he owns.

I had a wheel vibration problem on a CR-V on braking. This was due to warped front discs. The whole sad story is set out on a website http://hondacr-v.webs.com/
