My '99 CRV is an import, and several towbar suppliers (e.g. PCT) specify that their bar is not for imports. Why is this? I note that there was a change in type-approval legislation about then - is this then purely a legal matter, as imports may not have the appropriate EC type-approval status to match the towbar? Or is there a physical difference between UK and import CRVs in 1999?
