I HAVE FOUND A FASCIA ADAPTER FOR THE FRV

Postby sjf1 on Fri Apr 16, 2010 9:00 am

Hi All,

My misses just recently picked up an FRV that had just a single cd unit, and of course she wanted to upgrade it to a third party head unit. Going to Honda and trying to ask for a Fascia, i was told that Honda don't do a part like that for the FRV, BUT how wrong they ARE!

So after many days (Just about to give up) while browsing the internet I came across a guy who does mod audio installs and on his page was an Honda FRV / EDIX (name for the FRV in western europe) who lo and behold had a Fascia bracket.....So cut a long story short i emailed Him in Austria asking where he got the fascia brackets from and he said Honda Japan, but any Honda dealer in europe can order these?

Apparently if the dealer just does a search for the Fascia brackets on a Honda FRV nothing comes up in the search, strange, but if you give them the part numbers hey presto the part appears on the system. I think its a way for Honda to force the owner to order a replacement stereo.

So just phone your Dealer and quote the below part numbers:

Part numbers
77251-SJD-003ZA
77255-SJD-003

first part is the plastic, second part is a metal frame(Double Din) you will need. It will cost you around 80 EUR
*ZA is dark black on the top and bright black in the lower area
*ZB is grey on the top and and bright black in the lower area

I've just ordered the part and it came to around 80quid, expensive i know but at least I can finally get a decent stereo in with SatNav :)

Great news and well done. If possible I would like to get details of the parts (including pics) when they arrive. The Austrian guy's website suggests that this is not a straightforward job i.e. just take out the original head unit and replace with adaptor and then add aftermarket unit. Please let us know how much work is involved. Your help in all of this is much appreciated - I look forward to listening to a decent radio/CD in my Edix

Got mine today Euro 73 +VAT. It took about 15 minutes to fit it and install new radio/Cd player. I'm delighted and very grateful for the information shared on this site.
By the way the top part of the ZA adapter is charcoal grey NOT black and as far as I know the ZB is a very pale grey. So if your dash is charcoal grey (like mine) you should order the ZA model.
I'm looking for an excuse to go for a drive now!!

I haven't any pics but take a look here

Note the pale grey one - I think that's the ZB version.
