Fascia adaptor

Postby rira on Wed Apr 07, 2010 10:45 am

I want to get rid of the radio/CD player in my Honda Edix (the Japanese version of FRV) and replace it with a new head unit. In order to do this, I need a fascia adaptor but so far I have not been able to locate a dealer who supplies these adaptors. Does anyone know where I might get one?
Thanks for any help you can offer - it is appreciated.

Hi rira,
I have looked into this myself, but have gone no further as the stereo in my car is ok and does what I need.
You can try these people>>>> http://www.autoleads.co.uk/ (sorry can't seem to link) they are listing one in their catalogue but not sure how it works by the picture, I would speak to them first before buying.

Look your vehicle up in their catalogue>>>> http://www.armourauto.com/downloads/09cat/FaciaCatalogue-lowres.pdf

Thanks Marky - Autoleads does list a fascia adaptor for an FRV but it doesn't look remotely like the right shape for an FRV!!
Thanks for your suggestions - anyone else got any ideas?

Hi Rira,

As I don't own an FR-V yet, I'm not sure what the fascia is meant to look like... what was the problem with the Autoleads DFP-15-10 fascia adaptor? Given that this is about £20 delivered, compared to £90 for the "official" Honda version, I'd be interested to see how a stereo looked when fitted with one before spending the extra £70...

Cheers,

Kev

Replying to myself... I've had an email from Mem at Direct Sounds who (after I sent him one of the pics to the official fascia) said that the Autoleads one doesn't look as though it will fit an FR-V at all.

honda can supply the fascia panels and brackets- they um and argh alot as they dont want the hassle of ordering it special delivery from abroad....

fascia plate part nos are....
77251SJD003ZA
77251SJD003ZB
depending on colour ones dark grey and the other is gloss black- it comes up on hondas computer screen as replacement panel (nothing to do with radio etc but it is the correct part when they show you a pic!)

mounting bracket set
77255SJD003
you'l need this aswell as once the original units been removed theres nothing to hold any new aftermarket unit in place!

hope this helps

My local Honda said they were on back order until July, although hondaoriginalparts.com says they ship in 3 days? Dunno. Either way I was wondering if anyone had the £20 Autoleads one as a comparison to the £80 official fascia :)

Hi Tez,

Who did you order through? The dealer I'm getting my FR-V from quoted mid-June to early July for delivery of an official fascia. I called Lings (hondaoriginalparts.com) today and they said that despite the website saying "Ships in three days" it would actually be provisionally June 18th when their supplier got them in...

Incidentally, Halfords called the makers of the Autoleads parts and they claimed that the fascia they supply would fit an FR-V. Not certain how accurate that is, but there you go...

Cheers,

Kev
