FRV 05 Steering wheel radio buttons not working

The buttons on my steering wheel will not operate the radio or CD.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what needs to be done to get them working again?

quite possibly the loom on the back of the radio has worked its way loose......

do you have the cruise control etc on the other side of the steering wheel? if so does this work???? as maybe a break somewhere with the steering coloum otherwise

I will check the connections to the radio first. I don't have cruise control
