Just to provide everyone with an update... after contacting a number of different ice/audio dealers & fitters, I think I'm pretty certain I've nailed down what I'm going to do.

I've been quoted £399 for an Alpine CDE-114BTi fully fitted from Impulse Car in Watford - www.impulsecar.co.uk. This includes the fascia, power loom, antenna adaptor and steering wheel remote interface, along with a DIN pocket to take up the extra slot as the head unit is single not double DIN. This works out slightly more than getting Halford's to do it (by about a tenner) but means that the fitting will be done by someone who knows what they're doing (in general AND with regards the FR-V) - apparently Impulse fit navigation systems for Honda dealerships so they must know their stuff!

Their first response was to actually point me towards the Parrot MKi9200 for £269 fitted as apparently that not only does the bluetooth handsfree, it also has an ipod connector for charging & doing the audio. However I said that I wanted everything integrated rather than having a seperate unit, so asked after the Alpine headunits as I know they have the bluetooth built in. They provided a breakdown of the costs, so it's £199 for the head unit, dash panel supplied & fitted including pocket and HU fitting £130, power loom £10, antenna adaptor £20 and steering wheel remote interface £40. So that's £200 over and above the cost of the head unit, although this may only be if you buy the HU from them :)

I'd like to point out that I have no affiliation with the company, and am not on any sort of commission or anything - I'm just pointing out what I think is the best deal I've found from looking around in my local area. However, if you do get in touch with them, let them know that you've come from here!

Cheers,

Kev

£200 sounds like a lot for fitting etc over the cost of the head unit, but feels unavoidable because of the nature of the frv cd player they have to take out.

let us know how u get one, may be post some pics

If you fit it yourself you still need all the ISO parts anyway, and they'd cost about £120 or so including official fascia. So it's only about £80 for the actual fitting...

As for pics, they have some in the trade section of their webpage. I've yet to buy my FRV, let alone replace the stereo :) (maybe tomorrow on that one!)

Including all iso and steering adaptors, as well as official fascia, I've been quoted £200 over price of head unit. Am sure you can get it all fully fitted for less than a grand - I think the latest kenwood all in one can be had for about £6-700 for the head unit alone...

got my fascia plate from honda today including the rear bracket.... so its a case of saving again ready for my pc windows based system ready to go in. so that i can measure volume using a termlab monitor (what the sound offs use) and run my equaliser by bluetooth

this will also have rear camera and integrated calling- not nav as dont want the hassle of permanently updateing and its bleeding expensive too
Image Image Image be different and get modifying!!!
