Hi,

I have a new (to me FR-V) and despite searching through my manual cannot seem to locate how to lock my car (ie at a petrol station) but not set the alarm.

I have 2 small children who remain in the car at such times and are currently setting the alarm off when they move!

Please help!!?

on my fr-v (i assume there all the same) youve got 2 locking systems..... locks and dead locks if the lock is active (e.g. Youve pushed the fob once) the alarm shouldnt be active...... if the dead locks have been active (e.g. Youve pushed the fob twice) the alarm will be activated after approx 10- 15 seconds and therefore the ultrasonic sensors will pickup up air movement etc hence the alarm going off!

so basically by pushing the fob once as opposed to more than that should sort the problem out....

puzzling........... ive just kid tested mine again to double check and it doesn't arm the sensors on a single fob press....

i'd have thought they'd all be the same.... mines a 58 plate 1.8 petrol es model...

maybve some dealership advice is required...

if its like other alarms i've had, the interior sensors come on after a min or so after arming. mine defo arms after the 1st click on the fob. i assume the second click deadlocks the car

Mine's an 06 plate 2.2 diesel...checked manual again and the 2 clicks it says comes with *some models....guessing not mine!

Will give a dealership a bell now

Right the dealer's say - turn key in lock for locking but disablement of alarm

so off I go!

tried the key method on mine today and im getting the same results as a single press of the fob....... very puzzling!!
