strange happenings

My Esi seems to have developed a strange fault now where by it will start turn of the key and run without a problem. However if i have driven for quite some time and then say stop for petrol, by the time ive filled up and come back to the car, when trying to start itll turn over and then something (think ECU) is killing the engine. The only resolve i have found for this is to leave it for 5minutes, alternatively take out the ECU and backup fuses for couple minutes, replace them and then the car will start turn of the key again and run as normal.

Someone who i have asked thinks it may be related the fact that the exhaust is kicking out small amounts of blue smoke every now and then, which i believe to be piston rings? and the result of oil vapours having not settled is whats causing the ECU to kill the engine and wait a little longer?

Have you found an answer to this yet? If you have taken it to a garage or dealer, what have they said?

I spoke to one company that i was looking at getting a refurb done with and they think it is the fuel solenoid which is causing the issue as theyve seen something similar before.
