Honda Civic Hybrid (HCH) Auto stop
Hi guys Let me be the first to submit a posting with a conumdrum
I love my HCH (nicknamed Nighthawk) and I am a great fan of the HCH Auto stop. It is so quiet both at stopping and pulling away, you just don't know it's happening other that the green warning light.
However, I am left scratching my bonce over one issue - pehaps you 'techies' from the trade might help me out here??
Why is it that once Auto stop has kicked in, the engine re-starts when I select 'N'?
Case in point - on my way to work, I have to cross a level crossing where the wait can be over 10 minutes. When I join the queue, Auto stop activates, I apply handbrake, select Neutral and to rest my right leg, I take my foot off the break. The engine re-starts and I have to sit in the queue with the engine running, burning fuel, pumping out CO2. Why can't Auto stop continue with N selected?
